Robert Frazer (June 29, 1891 – August 17, 1944) was a prolific American actor whose career began in the pioneering days of the silent era and successfully continued into the age of sound. He rose to fame as a handsome leading man in the 1910s, starring in historic early productions where he played the title role in one of the first film versions of Robin Hood (1912) and portrayed Jesus Christ in the religious epic The Holy City (1912). Frazer seamlessly transitioned to “talkies,” becoming a busy character actor best known to modern audiences for his memorable appearances in early horror classics like White Zombie (1932) and The Vampire Bat (1933). Appearing in over 200 films, he worked consistently until his death from leukemia at the age of 53.
