Set against the stunning backdrop of Florida’s coast in Tarpon Springs, FL, this underwater adventure follows Greek-American sponge fishermen Mike (Gilbert Roland) and Tony Petrakis (Robert Wagner), a father-son duo whose livelihood is threatened by fierce competition. When the unscrupulous Arnold and Rhys brothers rob them of their hard-earned catch, Mike takes a risky decision to fish in the perilous 12-mile reef. Tragedy strikes when Mike falls to a fatal accident, leaving young Tony to carry on alone. But he’s soon joined by Gwyneth Rhys (Terry Moore), forming an unlikely alliance that challenges old rivalries.
