Superman: Season 1 Episode 2 – The Mechanical Monsters
In the thrilling second episode of the classic 1941 Superman cartoon titled “The Mechanical Monsters,” Superman faces off against a sinister scientist and his army of unstoppable robots!
As the headline in the Daily Planet warns: “Mechanical Monster loots bank!” A brilliant but twisted inventor has unleashed a legion of flying, treasure-stealing robots across Metropolis. Police guard a valuable exhibition of rare jewels, but it’s no match for these indestructible machines.
When a robot crashes through the exhibit, Clark Kent and Lois Lane are right in the middle of the action. Lois daringly hides in one of the robot’s compartments, and when Clark realizes she’s missing, he quickly transforms into Superman in a phone booth. Tracking the robot’s flight with his X-ray vision, Superman follows it back to the scientist’s hideout.
But rescuing Lois won’t be easy: she’s trapped above a pot of boiling metal, and Superman has to battle an entire army of robots to save her.
