Pat Woodell

Pat Woodell (July 12, 1944 – September 29, 2015) was an American actress and singer best known as one of the original stars of the classic 1960s sitcom, Petticoat Junction, where she played the intelligent and book-smart sister, Bobbie Jo Bradley.

From 1963 to 1965, Woodell was one of the three beautiful Bradley sisters who ran the Shady Rest Hotel. As the brunette, more studious Bobbie Jo, she was a central part of the show’s initial success. She left the popular series after two seasons to focus on a career as a singer, which included touring with comedian Jack Benny.

Following her departure from the wholesome sitcom, Woodell’s career took a dramatic turn as she starred in a series of cult B-movies. Her most notable later roles were in the influential “women in prison” film The Big Doll House (1971) and the drive-in feature The Roommates (1973). She retired from acting shortly thereafter at the age of 29.
