Craig Reynolds (born Harold Hugh Enfield; July 15, 1907 – October 22, 1949) was a handsome American actor who, after being groomed for stardom by Warner Bros. in the 1930s, became a reliable leading man in B-movies and a familiar face in supporting roles.
Reynolds was a promising young star for Warner Bros., where he was best known for playing Perry Mason’s charming rival, district attorney Mervyn “Merv” Allerton, in The Case of the Velvet Claws (1936), and for starring in the romantic comedy The Footloose Heiress (1937).
A decorated veteran of World War II, Reynolds was married to fellow actress Barbara Pepper, with whom he had two sons. His career was tragically cut short in 1949 when he died in a motorcycle accident at the age of 42, a promising life and career brought to an untimely end.
