Brad Johnson (July 23, 1924 – April 4, 1981) was an American actor who became a familiar face to television audiences of the 1950s as the handsome and steadfast Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig on the popular Western series, Annie Oakley.
A staple of the Western genre during its heyday, Brad Johnson was a reliable hero in numerous B-movies, his starring role alongside Gail Davis in Annie Oakley (1954-1957) marked the peak of his career, making him a well-known figure in one of the era’s most beloved juvenile Westerns. As the popularity of the traditional B-Western waned, his time in the spotlight faded. He continued to work in later years, often making guest appearances in television detective shows, but he remained most identified with his signature role as Lofty Craig.
