Sally Fraser (born December 12, 1932) is an American actress who became a quintessential “scream queen” of the 1950s, a beloved and beautiful star of classic low-budget science-fiction and horror films.
Fraser cemented her place in B-movie history with a string of memorable performances in cult classics. She played a wife possessed by an alien in Roger Corman’s It Conquered the World (1956), the sister of the titular giant in War of the Colossal Beast (1958), and a mother protecting her infant from a giant arachnid in Earth vs. the Spider (1958).
Before her sci-fi fame, she was a frequent face on television, appearing in popular Westerns like Annie Oakley and The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok. She also had a brief, uncredited role as a UN receptionist in Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece, North by Northwest (1959). Fraser retired from acting in the 1960s to raise her family, eventually settling on a cattle ranch in Idaho.
