Earth vs. The Spider

When her father mysteriously vanishes on a drive home, teenager Carol (June Kenney) is determined to find him. With her boyfriend Mike (Gene Persson) in tow, their search leads them to a remote cave where they make a horrifying discovery: a giant, mutated spider has spun its web.

After a terrifying encounter, the teens alert the authorities. With the help of their high school science teacher (Ed Kemmer), the Sheriff (Gene Roth) manages to seemingly kill the monstrous arachnid with a heavy dose of DDT, and its massive body is brought back to town for study—stored, of all places, in the high school gymnasium. But the creature is far from dead. When a local rock and roll band starts rehearsing for the school dance, the loud music awakens the giant spider from its coma, unleashing it on the unsuspecting town. This classic tale of a small town under siege makes Earth vs. the Spider a quintessential 1950s creature feature.
