The notorious Reno brothers gang terrorizes the region, using the town of Seymour as their hideout, protected by three corrupt officials. James Barlow (Randolph Scott), a cunning operative from the Peterson Detective Agency, goes undercover as an outlaw to infiltrate the gang. As Barlow gains the gang’s trust, his mission is complicated by his growing feelings for Laura Reno (Mala Powers), the brothers’ conflicted sister. The tension escalates to an explosive climax as Barlow sets the gang up for a dawn train robbery.
